Last week, Dr. Pepper Snapple Group bought out family owned Dublin Dr. Pepper bottling company, which had been in a trademarking dispute with the parent company. It was the last original bottling company that still used the original Dr. Pepper recipe. The original recipe uses pure cane sugar as the sweetener versus high fructose corn syrup (which as we have learned is in almost every processed food and incredibly bad for you).
Native Texans have come to love this small, family owned business. It is the economic backbone of this small community and one wonders what will happen now that the company will be shut down. If you are tired of big, corporate America pushing out small, family owned business please sign this petition and Save Dublin Dr. Pepper!
